SALALAH: The National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking launched the national awareness campaign 'Aman 2' on Sunday in Salalah under the slogan "Awareness is Everyone's Right." The campaign aims to raise community awareness of the dangers of this crime, promote a culture of prevention, and support and empower victims.
The national campaign 'Aman 2' will run for a full month and includes a range of awareness programmes, events, and activities targeting various segments of society. It seeks to enhance understanding of human trafficking indicators, prevention methods, and reporting and assistance channels, thereby contributing to raising community awareness and strengthening national efforts to combat this crime.
The launch ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, in the presence of Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthi, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs and Chairman of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking.
The ceremony featured a visual presentation showcasing the National Committee's efforts in raising awareness of the dangers of human trafficking, introducing prevention and protection mechanisms, and highlighting the key initiatives and programmes implemented by the Committee to enhance community awareness and protect human rights and dignity. — ONA
